Streets of Spain comes to the Southbank

¡Hola! The Spanish know how to party – and they love their food – Streets of Spain, on London’s Southbank blends the best of both this bank holiday weekend. And you’re in safe hands, heading this four-day fiesta of food, drink and art is Spanish wine brand Campo Viejo. Bring on the sangria!

Barcelona is literally coming to London, with market stall holders from the world famous La Boqueria street food market setting up shop on the Southbank.

Think chorizo, cheese, Iberico ham, picante peppers, tapas, patatas bravas, spices, strange looking mushrooms and fiery Padron Peppers.

Are you ready to be a guinea pig? Head to the Colour Lab and be part of Professor Charles Spence’s experimental wine event and test your senses. Can colour affect taste? Does sound affect taste? Events run throughout the day – and it’s free!

Street food stalls from Barcelona’s La Boqueria

For those of you who are serious about your Spanish cuisine the food festival includes masterclasses by La Boqueria chefs and Campo Viejo winemakers, plus there’s a wine blending class where you get to take away your own bottle (held daily at 12pm/2pm/4pm/6pm).

Renowned artists Remed and Okuda will be making street art, Spanish style, to celebrate the colour, life and vibrancy of Spain – all we know is they’ll be in a perspex cube (with a whole load of paint).

Remember happiness is sausage shaped and the Spanish word for it is: chorizo”.
