It used to be a job centre, last June it morphed into a bar, and now Deptford High Street’s The Job Centre is to host some of our favourite street food vendors over five weeks.

Kitchen Hijack launches its first weekend on Thursday 26 March with Oh My Dog kicking off the shenanigans with its loaded, topped hotdogs. Look out for Kitchen Hijack’s pedigree hotdog the Deptford Dachshund, served with North Carolina pulled pork, mature cheddar and OMD! Barbecue Sauce.

Each week will see a new street food vendor hijack the kitchen over Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, plus this weekend there’ll be a series of live music events into the bargain. So you can shake your booty as an excuse to eat more.

The five week line-up includes Oh My Dog for German franks and veggie dogs, Prairie Fire BBQ, Bill or Beak for braised duck and pork served with spice and lush sauces, the Meat Heads for saucy meatballs in subs and cheese toastie whizz-kids The Cheese Truck.

Oh and did we mention there’s free gin tasting this Saturday from Pinkerings Gin? Now we’ve got your attention… check out who’s who and when below, see you there!
