Street Eats: TT Liquor

Drink  /

Behind an unassuming shop front is TT Liquor: a new store, underground bar and lounge, offering masterclasses and tasting experiences under one (very cool) roof.

What to Expect

Step through the door in to a place where all of your (liquor) dreams will come true. Surrounded by specialist beers, wines and spirits from floor to ceiling, you can peruse the shelves for hand-picked and hard-to-find liquors.

Once you’ve purchased your tipple, you can even store it in your own private vault, ready for your next visit. Or head down the winding stone staircase to the atmospheric cellar bar, where you can sip on cocktails from a thoughtfully contrived menu.

What to Drink

Grab a leather-bound menu and get stuck in to the cocktails. The cocktail list is inspired by four distinctive eras in the history of cocktails.

For example, drinks from the Belle Époque capture the extravagance of Europe in the 19th century up until the First World War, like the Oh My Darlin’ – mango-infused Frapin VS, clementine, lemon juice and syrup, which is based on the classic Sidecar.

While Boom to Bust puts forward cocktails suggestive of the post-war economic boom in America from the late 40s to the early 50s; made with El Dorado 3yr, lemon juice, tonko syrup and cream soda, the Magnum PI is evocative of disco cocktails. There are also specialist beers and wines to round off the menu.

Best for…

Drinks with friends who appreciate a cocktail or two. Or, for a unique date, book one of the tasting experiences. Whether beer, whisky, rum or gin is your poison, sample a selection and learn about its rich history in one of the ‘tasting vaults’ in a converted jail cell (leave the handcuffs at home).

Don’t Miss

Try your hand at making a cocktail yourself with the fully interactive masterclasses on offer. Own it at your personal station, as you take tips from the experts at the custom-built bar.
