Experience Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet through a food extravaganza

Forget popcorn. Edible Cinema have got movie food down to a fine art.

Experience the most famous love story of all time, Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet – on screen in Baz Luhrmann’s screen adaptation – through foodie experiences for a full-on sensory adventure.

From “tongue sandwich” (yes, you heard right) to accompany Romeo and Juliet’s first kiss to a mini vial of “poison” as the film reaches its climax, each crucial plot turn will be followed by its foodie counterpart.

What’s more, Bombay Sapphire has teamed with Edible Cinema and, as as you enter, the room will be divided between “Montagues” and “Capulets”. The performance will offer each of the “families” a very different experience by plying guests with different cocktails inspired by the two Shakespearean families.

Edible Cinema used to live on Portobello Road in the Electric Cinema, but due to the resounding success of previous screenings, including Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and When Harry Met Sally, this unique cinema concept involving aroma, texture and taste, is now hanging with the A-listers at the West End British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA). Swish.

Who knew you’d be having an intimate dinner date with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes this bank holiday weekend?
