There’s nothing better than the idea of celebrating the bank holiday Easter weekend supping cider, sunnies on, sat by a canal with the sun beaming down on your face – IPA-cooked pork in hand. Although the sun may be wishful thinking, the cider is a sure bet.
Crate is hosting its Cider Fest on Saturday 19 April in East London’s Hackney Wick in collaboration with Dan and Dan from The Cider Box.
Crate Brewery and Pizzeria sits on the canal in a former print factory. The Easter cider festival will see them throw open the shutters of Crate’s Brewshed, scatter the straw bales and unload hot smoked meats and deep south Americana steeped blues, folk and country music from live DJs and bands.
So what’s your tipple of choice? There will be 30 apple (and pear) varieties from the heart of the West Country on offer.
And all that cider drinking will surely bring on appetite, well help is at hand with four-hour pork belly, cooked in Crate IPA and served with Chorizo Dust Coated Fries; pulled brisket with chipotle BBQ sauce and dirty rice; and beef steak mushroom burgers with ancho mayo.
See you canal-side…
