Summer calls for recipes from sun-drenched climes. We’re giving you the chance to win Creole Kitchen: Sunshine Flavours from the Caribbean cookbook from the fabulous Vanessa Bolosier.

As Caribbean carnival spirit hits London this summer, bring the flavours to your kitchen with these simple yet comforting recipes from Creole Kitchen.

Corned Beef Bokit

Celebrating island life and Creole fusion food, Creole Kitchen combines 100 delicious recipes, from Mutton Colombo, Creole Cassoulet and Coconut Slaw to Saltfish Fritters, Flambé Bananas and Coconut Flan.

Born in Guadeloupe, brainchild of the cookbook, Vanessa Bolosier is half-Guadeloupian and half-Martiniquan. Vanessa founded her luxury Caribbean food company, Carib Gourmet, in 2011, and runs a cookery school and supperclub. Busy lady.

Mont Blanc

Speaking about the cookbook, Vanessa says, “It reflects the rustic Amerindians’ love for seafood, African customary usage of tubers and a tradition of slow-cooked stews. French, Spanish, Portuguese Dutch and English cooking techniques and a myriad of spices help to bring the flavours together.

“In my Creole Kitchen you’ll find laughter, ancestral stories, childhood memories, inherited recipes, tradition and a blend of culinary brilliance from those I learned from throughout the years.” Need we say more?
