Holding Back the Cheese | Melt Room

Been dating for a few weeks? Want a quick, sweet surprise? Go for Melt Room’s Strawberry Nutella Cheesecake Melt (see above) with strawberry jam, cream cheese and Nutella melted in between milk bread slices for a sweet treat, at just £5. This Soho spot serves New York style grilled cheese sandwiches – full on comfort food with locally-sourced ingredients.

Pizz-a Her Heart… | Wedge Issue


This is for chilled out pairs who happily swap and share different pizzas. Head to Clerkenwell’s newest pizza spot Wedge Issue who are serving up a heart-shaped pizza with Nutella, chocolate and strawberries. If sweet toppings ain’t your thing, grab a Napoli-style pizza with as many toppings as you like for £8.50 (with the heart shaped base as an option too). Plus, get in some craft beers with brews coming from Weird Beard, Pressure Drop and more!

Take Your Bird Out | Ma’Plucker


If eating with your hands in front of each other doesn’t break you out in a sweat then grab Sylvia’s Love Bucket: Ma’Plucker’s Valentine’s special with their infamous 3-way chicken. Think chicken dipped in buttermilk (mmm), roasted in chipotle (ooo), then pulled with hickory spices (Yes please!). What does it come with? Well no bucket is complete without Ma’Pluckers homemade baked beans, fries and salad.

Don’t be a Jerk | Rudie’s


Is hot, spicy and fiery what you fancy? The food we mean of course! Go for Rudie’s One Love menu – a 2-course or 3-course set menu, packed with flavour and spice. Start with grilled oysters or jerk chicken liver pate with a Jamaican orange chutney and bread. For mains there’s seafood heaven with lobster, scallops and prawns or a twist on the jerk chicken with a jerk duck leg! Rudie’s have nailed the dessert option with an indulgent chocolate mousse spiked with chilli and decorated with gold leaf. If you’re feeling extravagant, go for the One Love cocktail with Scotch bonnet infused vodka, Appleton VX rum, fresh strawberry, dark chocolate, lime and sugar. Hot!

Classy Lady | Bistro Union

Bistro Union’s food style is nostalgic and focuses on classic British ingredients and dishes. Go for a 3-course feast kicking off with a Rhubarb Fizz cocktail, which is perfect with canapés of sole goujons with devilled tartare. Choose between smoked deer carpaccio or seared scallops with prosciutto, Jerusalem artichoke and chestnuts. For the main, it’s an ultimate sharer of Chateaubriand with Boulangère potatoes or Brill for two with crab bisque, cockles and samphire. Don’t forget to leave space for dessert!

All the Trimmings | The Hour Glass


Who needs fancy meals when a good old roast will do? Start off with crab parfait, spiced pumpkin soup or a plate of British charcuterie, then feast on a sharing roast for two. There’s a whole honey glazed Aylesbury duck, herb-fed chicken or Orchard Farm pork belly, served with all the trimmings. End with a whole tarte tatin for the ultimate sweet finish.

A Royal Feast for Maharajahs and Maharanis | Darbaar

Valentine’s at Darbaar

This is the ultimate choice if you’re splashing out on a sumptuous feast for two. Inspired by royal Indian banquets this 3-course set menu begins with a Rose Passion Fizz and 3 different canapés. Choose between a range of dishes including Kasturi butter chicken in a rich silky tomato and fenugreek sauce, spiced roasted sea bass with green moong lentil and shrimp kedgeree, or Rajasthani Spiced Lamb Saddle with chilli and corn curry sauce. Drool.
