Sun, food, booze and er… gangnam style dancing.

Saturday evenings at Urban Food Fest are a must, whether it’s Korean & Japanese themed with Harajuku girls and Gangnam boys, or just the regular evenings. And don’t take “just the regular” lightly, as there’s plenty to feast your eyes on here – not forgetting, more importantly, your bellies.

The Korean and Japanese theme was impressive: Korean noodle ramen beef burgers, Japanese chicken katsu curries and Korean butter fried beef kimchi hot dogs were just a selection, as well as street food from other vendors, in case you wanted to try something else. There was a giant inflatable sumo man to be found along with a few costumes lurking around. We were even treated to a dance off by some of the Korean ramen burger chefs – Gangnam Style was definitely in the mix.

Our top picks were the katsu curry burger from Yu Kyu, Busan BBQ’s pork belly bun with a mooli slaw, hot chicken wings from Korea Foods, and as a treat, the brownies from South East Cakery.

What we love is that there is a new street food lineup each week, so foodies can try out many flavours, as well as themed evenings. Get your costumes ready!

Food – tick.

Drinks – tick.

Entertainment – tick.

Dance off – tick.

Get there while you can!
