The Steak Béarnaise sandwich: Yolk (pictured above)

The Toastie: The Cheese Bar

The Cheese Bar serve up pimped up toasties with glorious cheese. The menu features signature classics from The Cheese Truck days including a festival favourite Cropwell Bishop Stilton and the Bacon & Pear Chutney sandwich alongside new additions including a Berkswell Saganaki and truffled Baron Bigod.

Banana Bread Sandwich: Daisy Green Collection

Everyone’s talking about this one, the award-winning Banana Bread Sandwich two slices of toasted banana bread loaded with mascapone, fresh berries, flaked almonds and honey. The Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich: Temple and Sons

It’s all about the succulent chicken breast and crunchy pickle inside this soft brioche bun, all brought together with a generous serving of Churchill sauce. Guests can indulge with cocktails in the ground floor bar, as a main dish in the restaurant, or as part of the bottomless Saturday brunch to toast British Sandwich Week in style!

The Po’Boy: Division 194

Indulge in Po’ Boy baguettes stuffed with fillings like beef shin “debris” with bone marrow gravy, or NOLA-style shrimp (or go for both with a “surf and turf” sandwich!).

Don’t miss the Saturday brunch special – the Breakfast Po’ Boy and a New Orleans twist on the classic Benedict – a toasted English muffin topped with poach egg, hollandaise, house hot sauce plus a choice of buttermilk-fried chicken, signature beef shin “debris” or avocado and pickled chilli flakes. The Ice-cream Filled Bao: Gyoza Bar

These sweet caramelised steamed buns will be filled with a choice of either matcha green tea, chocolate or vanilla ice-cream; and topped with M&Ms and crushed Oreo cookies! Did we mention they’re free? Gyoza Bar, the Japanese restaurant in Covent Garden, are giving away these bao buns to every customer who dines in.

The Báhn Mi: Kêu

East meets West with this baguette, the Hoi An Deluxe Bánh Mi.

Made with pork ham, pork floss, house-made chicken liver pate, spiced pork belly, and topped with their secret ‘Hoi An Sauce’; a combination of shallots, bbq sauce, pate, minced pork and Vietnamese herbs and spices. Yes, it’s a (tasty) mouthful.

Find it: The Hoi An Deluxe will be available at Kêu City, Kêu Shoreditch and Kêu Soho from the 14 of May.

The Burger: The Deli Special, Honest Burgers

Back for the third year running, the Deli special is inspired by founder Tom’s favourite sandwich, from a shop in Brighton he used to visit as a student. Made with Honest beef, smoked streaky bacon, emmental cheese, pickles, red onion, punchy garlic mayo and baby spinach. It’s crunchy, delish and a celebration of British flavours.

Find it: at all Honest Burgers restaurants from now until Monday 29 May for £12.75 with rosemary salted chips.

Smørrebrød: Aster

Indulge in smørrebrød at the Nordic-French restaurant, Aster. These traditional Nordic open sandwiches by Executive Chef Helena Puolakka consist of buttered rye bread topped with the likes of Atlantic prawn skagen or cured salmon and pickles, to create a flavoursome and visually appealing dish. Guests can enjoy them as part of the smörgåsbord set menu or afternoon tea menu in the downstairs café.

The Lobster Roll: B.O.B’s Lobster

Take your roll a few steps further with lobster courtesy of B.O.B’s Lobster. Served up on paper plates from their 1957 VW camper van you’ll find them popping up in a lot of street food locations. This is perfect for summer feasting and don’t miss their lobster mac ‘n’ cheese for ultimate sharing.

A Scandi Brunch: ScandiKitchen

Indulge in a Scandi brunch with bubbles to celebrate Norway Day on 17 May, in Southwark Park. For just £19.99, guests can enjoy a delicious brunch with sparkling wine.

Food and drinks will be available in the park all day. ScandiKitchen will be making open sandwiches – think delicious bread topped with flavours including Smoked Mackerel with fennel and apple; Egg and Prawn; or Roast Beef & Crispy Onion. The bar will be stocked with Norwegian beer, soft drinks and wines. Hotdogs, waffles & ice cream will also be available throughout the day!

The Naan Sliders: Rola Wala

Rola Wala serve up ‘twisted’ naan sliders packing in spices, herbs and crunch showcasing delicious Indian flavours. The Sandwich Fest

On Saturday 20 May in celebration of British Sandwich Week, Sandwich Fest will bring together 8 of the London’s top street food vendors and restaurants, with one focus – upping the sandwich game. There will also be craft beer, cocktails and live music. Celebrated sandwich specialists, Brindisa, Deeney’s, Grill My Cheese, Le Bao, Project Sandwich and The Piadina Project are confirmed to take part in the event.
