Not just for sailors, check out Wood’s Navy Rum Shack this summer for rum cocktails and fresh seafood.

What to Expect

Head down to Regent’s Canal this June and July and look out for Wood’s Navy Rum Shack near King’s Cross. Collaborating with Ladies & Gentlemen Bar based in Kentish Town, and London Shell Co, famed for their tastes of the sea and seasonal game, enjoy rum cocktails and fresh seafood on the banks of the canal or on board Wood’s very own working barge.

By the canal…

What to Drink

Visit Ladies & Gentlemen’s pop-up shed to try an impressive line-up of rum cocktails. You’ll find classics such as the Mai Tai on the menu, as well as more adventurous concoctions, like the Wood’s Greenheart Grog – made from Wood’s Navy Rum, pink grapefruit juice, lime juice, honey and ginger beer, it’s themed on the traditional ‘grog’ invented for seafarers in 1740.

The line-up of Wood’s cocktails is strong (in more ways than one!)

Other cocktails to try include the Out of the Wood’s – a sweet and sour blend of Wood’s Navy Rum, absinthe, lime, sugar, dry curacao and amaro di angostura – and the Jungle Bird Twist, a mix of Wood’s Navy Rum, Jamaican rum, pineapple, orgeat, lemon and house aperitif blend. Wood’s Navy Rum is made to the original navy recipe from 1887… and at 57%, unless you have the constitution of a sailor, make sure you line your stomach!

Rum and fresh seafood are a match made in heaven

What to Eat

Luckily, London Shell Co’s pop-up shed next door is more than up to the job. Try snacks such as fresh Dungarvan Oysters, and Baby Squid with Squid Ink Aioli, or choose from bigger bites to soak up the rum, such as the Fish Finger Sandwich with Homemade Salad Cream and the Cured Dorset Char, Truffled Cream Cheese Bagel. Delish.
