With new seasonal cocktails on the the menu, The Harcourt is an intriguing spot that combines Scandinavian innovation with sophistication.
What to Expect
Don’t be fooled by the somewhat unassuming exterior of The Harcourt – within this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse lies a lavish exterior, where you can enjoy fine Scandinavian dining and a particularly impressive array of cocktails that will delight even the most widely-drunk cocktail aficionados!
What to Drink
From the signature cocktail list, try the After Cuban – served in a quaint glass bottle and cut glass, this is a rich and flavoursome mix of coffee & tobacco infused Havana Especial rum, cacao liqueur, Pedro Ximénez sherry, chocolate and Angostura bitters, and birchwood smoke (not a fan of chocolate in cocktails? Nor was I until trying this…).
The seasonal cocktail list is full of surprises, particularly the Koko Basilika. This is The Harcourt’s take on a Pina Colada but it’s so much more than that, with components like maple, basil syrup and ‘coconut ball’ (homemade coconut milk), and served in a brass pineapple (of course) with passionfruit and homemade cloudberry jam.
Or for a real showstopper, pick the The Moldemarka, a delicate yet powerful cocktail with Cherry Marinated Martell VS, Norwegian Marka bitter, Granny’s Garden syrup, bitter syrup and tea smoke – the presentation on this one will induce envy amongst your fellow diners…
What to Eat
Accompany your cocktails with equally sophisticated dishes from the menu – go for the House Gravadlax with potato salad, Swedish mustard, pickled cucumber & dill, or the exquisitely flavoured Atlantic Sea Bream Poke with spring onion, soy, ginger, chilli, sesame seeds, coriander & cress.
Expanding your cocktail horizons in a spot that still feels wonderfully undiscovered…
