Street Eats: Tacos at Cartel

Food  /

Tequila, tacos and summer vibes: Cartel ticks all of our boxes.

What to expect

Cartel is set up to provide a semi al-fresco, and very reasonably priced, dining experience. The menu is simple and set out with a clear premise – food is to be sampled, enjoyed and shared. Whether you’re after delicious cocktails, modern Mexican, or in our case – both; Cartel will most certainly deliver.

Weekend preparations start early with tasteful, in-house live music on Thursdays and Fridays.

The confit duck breast taco

What to eat

We recommend starting off with 2 main dishes person and seeing where the meal takes you. Who doesn’t love a Mexican-themed tapas?! Portions are generous, not that we’re complaining!

Personal favourites include the confit duck breast tacos served with fig preserve and a handful of fresh pomegranate. For the veggies, the roasted plantain and butternut squash tacos with pumpkin seed salsa (love) and coriander are an incredible alternative!

Heat lovers, the honey glazed chipotle and lime wings are for you

Mild options aside, our recommendations for those of you with a fiery palette include the chilli garlic king prawn tacos served with crunchy coleslaw and chipotle mayo and the honey glazed chipotle and lime chicken wings! Beautifully cooked, glazed with love and utterly delicious.

What to Drink

Cartel boasts an incredibly impressive drinks menu.

Don’t miss out on our favourite cocktail, The Cartel – Patron Blanco, citric acid and crème de peche stirred down and served in your own personal Patron bottle! A must try for beer drinkers is the oh-so smooth Negra Modelo.

Don’t Miss

The BOTTOMLESS Tequila brunch party! Enjoy a 3 Course brunch menu, 2 hours of bottomless drinks and live music for just £35pp! Check out their website for tickets and dates.
