‘Shaken not stirred’, the classic line from 007 James Bond – why not try the DRY Mar-Tea-Ni, the unique afternoon tea served at Dry Martini, Meliá White House’s cocktail bar for a shaken up experience…
What to Expect
Forget your regular scones and tea, this is an afternoon tea with a gin-infused twist. Just our thing! The bar feels like a classic gentleman’s club – think retro decor with bold and richly coloured sofas and armchairs. You’ll find yourself surrounded by paintings, all including the iconic martini glass.
What to Eat
Where to begin? Oh the savouries in that afternoon tea… There’s a variety of sandwiches including Aubergine on tomato brioche (our favourite); Lamb and mint on charcoal toast; Pork and pickle on white sourdough and Smoked salmon on brown sourdough.
And for the grand finale – the mouthwatering desserts. Feast on a selection including the Chocolate martini mousse éclair; Mango cheesecake; Raspberry dome and Vanilla gateau.
And let’s not be forgetting the scones (if you have any space left), which include an infusion of JING Teas, including lavender and green tea.
What to Drink
Cocktails are blended with Tanqueray Gin and tea syrups from JING Teas. We enjoyed The Casablanca; you’ll feel like you’re sipping on After Eights. The Long Island Ice ‘Chai’ packs a punch for those who love spices. Other infusions include Blackcurrant & Hibiscus; Organic Jade Sword; White Peony and Chai.
Forget special occasions, we don’t need any excuse for the perfect gin-fuelled catch up with a friend.
Request to enjoy your afternoon tea on the Terrace, while it’s still warm! Or better still, step into the shoes of ‘Brian Flanagan’ (Tom Cruise’s famous character in Cocktail!) and book a Hippy Hippy Shakes mixology masterclass before your afternoon tea.
