A seafood restaurant in the heart of the city, Crab Tavern serves the humble crustacean in every way you can think of; even gribiche!
What to Expect?
Unsurprisingly, sea food features heavily. There’s a mix of fish and shellfish on offer, and if you would rather not choose between them all, you can opt for one of the platters which is perfect for sharing with friends.
What to Eat
If you love crab, we recommend trying the crab platter for your starter. It comes with soft shell crab, crab tacos, a crab waffle and crab gribiche – a mayo style dip.
If you’re as greedy as we were – the calamari is worth a try too. It’s soaked in milk for 24 hours before its deep fried to make sure it’s not chewy.
The platters are great as they let you try a bit of everything. We went for the hot platter (top image); made up of whole lobster, king crab, mussels, clams, shrimp & tiger prawns. You’ll also need to be prepared for things to get messy! We’re sure you wouldn’t anyway, but don’t forget to order chips – they come sprinkled with a deliciously tasty seasoning.
What to Drink
The location is perfect for after dinner drinks this summer. Once you’ve finished eating you can grab the tipple of your choice and head outside into Broadgate Circle.
The desserts were a surprise star! The cheesecake comes with a twist and the brownie is super indulgent for anyone who can squeeze it in at the end of the meal.
