Feeling cheesy? Pop into Melt Room for a twist on the classic cheese melt

What is It?

Melt Room is the brainchild of Andrey Dazenko who exported his love for New York style cheese melts to a little café on central London’s Noel Street. It’s cheesy, plain and simple. 

What to Eat

This was the first cheese melt dedicated restaurant in London, so the list is extensive. Meat-lovers can choose from jam-packed melts like the Pastrami with mushroom, horseradish, Red Leicester and Cheddar; the Salted Beef with mustard and pickles; or the Pulled Pork accompanied with wholegrain mustard, Cheddar, and apple and ale chutney.

There’s big veggie selection. Take your pick from melts such as the Portobello with Provolone cheese, roasted peppers and thyme; or the Roast Beetroot with hummus, board beans, rocket and feta.

Carb-on-carb fun with the Mac n Cheese melt with bacon

Best for…

The more off-the-wall melts such as the carbtastic Mac n Cheese (add bacon or chorizo to break up the stodge). For a fresher taste, try the limited edition Fish and Chips melt complete with fish fingers and tartare mozi mix.

Feeling brave? Take on dessert with the milk bread selection, including Banoffee Melt, Peanut Butter and Jelly Melt, and Nutella and Mascapone Melt. 

Don’t Miss

The ultra rich Truffle Cheesy Fries (cheddar, truffle oil and double cream melted atop French fries). And get there before 11.30am and you can indulge in a cheesy breakfast, with The Full Works: scrambled eggs, old spot patty, keens cheddar, smoked bacon, HP relish on sourdough or the Benedict Melt: ham, scrambled egg, vintage cheddar, hollandaise sauce.


This is a perfect pit-stop café if you need to stock up on some energy mid-shopping on Oxford Street, hidden on a side street just behind the chaos. Phew.
