Sushisamba are bringing the action from Rio 2016 with a special Olympic-themed menu this summer.
What to Expect
So you may not have splashed out on heading to Rio 2016 in the flesh, but over at Sushisamba you can get a taste for all things Rio with their special Olympic-themed menu, plus you can watch select games and the closing ceremony. The dishes are served from 5-21 August, from the dizzy heights of the iconic Heron Tower‘s 39th floor, in their lounge and outside on the stunning Tree Terrace.
What to Eat
This Brazilian-Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant has created a small but perfectly formed menu inspired by Brazilian street food. Dishes include Pão de Queijo (cheesebread) mango, chorizo, paprika; Pastéis caipirinha (pictured above); Bolinhos de Bacalhau (pictured top), lime, aji amarillo, peruvian potato; Yellowtail Nigiri, coconut and lime; and Rabanadas, vanilla, pineapple, passion fruit.
What to Drink
The Brazilian-inspired cocktails are dressed to impress. Try the Batida de Mango, an updated classic where mango and passion fruit are churned through ice and spiked with Abelha cachaça and Benedictine liqueur. Or opt for the Kaffirinha, Sushisamba‘s take on a Brazilian classic, with fragrant Kaffir lime leaves infused in Abelha cachaça, churned with lime and sugar. Served short over crushed ice.
An edible retreat to Rio, not forgetting the fabulous view (and cool summer breeze) from the Heron Tower.
Stay until dark to chill beneath the dazzling orange tree on the terrace, cocktails in hand.
