Dine on Nikkei street food and drink cocktails from tin cans at Notch, the new rooftop escape on Oxford Street…

What to Expect

Delicious street food perfect for sharing, tin can cocktails and rooftop swings. Notch used to be Roofnic last year. This year they take things a notch up a level as this is the perfect relief or end stop from the chaos on Oxford Street.

What to Eat?

Indulge in Nikkei street food from ex-Kurobuta and Nobu Melbourne chef Mark Morrans, as he serves up a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cooking from the Fudo shack. Start off with the seafood dishes – the Seabass Sashimi Pizza (on a tortilla base) with ceviche miso and anchovy miso is refreshing for summer and packed with flavour; or go for the Smashed Crabs on a crunchy tortilla with kani aioli and sweetcorn.

Choose from Tacos with fried chicken with marinated kimchee mayo, shichimi, chilli and chives; pulled beef with anticucho short rib; or tofu with shitake, avocado, and yuzu mayo. Or feast on the Spicy Baffaro Wings (perfect for sharing); and the Pork Belly Steamed Bun.

What to Drink

It’s all about the jam jar cocktails and tuna can classics. Love tequila? There’s the Red Pigeon with Espolon Tequila, Campari, lime, pink grapefruit and sugar. Gin your thing? Sip on the Kool Aid with bulldog gin, elderflower, lavender, apple and lemon. And the Canned Classics? There’s the Negroni – made with Cinzano Rosso, Campari and Bulldog Gin. We loved the Old Fashioned – Wild Turkey 81 and bitters, perfect after work. And, there’s the Adonis – Cinzano Rosso, sherry and bitters. Just add ice. Sharing cocktails and summer staples like schooners of craft beers and bags of wine will also be available.
