David Carter, founder of SMOKESTAK will be opening his first permanent site on Sclater St, Shoreditch, in early November. Fans who have feasted on those ribs at plenty of festivals and Street Feast sites will be excited by this new opening, and if you haven’t yet tried SMOKESTAK, now is your chance…
What to Expect
The wood burning smoker is here to stay and will feature in the centre of the restaurant, and is overlooked by several tables, allowing you to feel part of the action. Think meats, meats and more banging dishes on the menu.
What to Try
The classics will be on the menu including that USDA brisket bun and pickled red chilli and the Thick-cut ribs and pickled cucumber as well as new dishes that will play around with the wood-burning smoker to create dynamic tastes.
New dishes will include Smoked girolles and beef dripping toast, Crispy beef shin and anchovy mayo and Coal-roasted sweet potato, smoked ricotta and bacon.
Smoked cauliflower cheese, Burnt end beans and brisket ends and Grilled baby gems and parmesan will feature on the menu as sides. And to end it all? There will be a Pickled blackberry crumble served in cast iron dishes straight from the fire, or Toasted oak ice cream, butterscotch and smoked sea salt. This is one menu to look out for.
What to Drink
The drink menu at the new SMOKESTAK restaurant will be simple and concise with four beers, six cocktails, and around 25 wine bins to choose from. Beers will come from friends at 40FT, Kernel Brewery and Brew By Numbers.
