From a twist on a royal afternoon tea, to chicken three ways, there’s plenty to go for in Soho’s Ma’Plucker, whether it’s a quick catch-up dinner or a fortnightly quiz night.
What is it?
Chicken: take it fried; straight from the rotisserie; pulled (yes, you heard us); or coated in buttermilk. There’s a range of choices here in this Soho joint, with a few comfort-food style sides from Crack & Cheese (that’s deep-fried mac and cheese) to homemade baked beans and slaw.

What to Try?
Any of Ma’Pluckers 3 Way Chicken dishes. Choose a base – salad, bun or a waffle; your chicken – rotisserie, buttermilk-dipped, or pulled; and finally your sauce. The buttermilk fried chicken in a bun (go for the thigh naturally), with chipotle chilli sauce was a hit: crunchy in texture and flavourful. Fancy something with a bit more of a Southern edge? Take on the generous helping of Ma’s Southern Style Chicken ‘n’ Biscuits, served in its own metal tray – oozing and tender (although have fun wrestling with that tin tray).
And there’s no missing that Cherry Pie for dessert.

What to Drink?
The Frozen Margarita is the way to go!
Don’t Miss
Lizzie’s 90th Afternoon Tea. Fried chicken at an afternoon tea you say? Why ever not – this twist takes on a few mash-ups on the burger including pulled chicken and waffles, as well as Ma’Plucker’s own take on the scone, doughnuts, as well as a chocolate and cornflake scotch egg. All washed down with a Boozy Ice Tea or Fizz.
