London Evening Standard has announced an amazing festival celebrating the best of London’s culinary adventures in London Food Month, this June…
What to Expect?
From super clubs, to a touring cheese bus and masterclasses in a dungeon; London Food Month will see all four corners of the capital take part in the month-long celebration of food. The entire programme has been curated by London Food Month creative director Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles.
Here’s a few of our top events to get booking into your diaries.
The Night Market
We have our eyes on this one, being the big street food fans we are. And you should too. The Night Market will take place from June 7-18, with 50 diverse and exciting food stalls from London’s favourite restaurants, food trucks and street food vendors will be joined by DJs, entertainers and even an outdoor cinema (tickets purchased separately for the cinema).
See you there?
Young Chefs’ Dinner
The festival will also look to the future, with a Young Chefs’ Dinner at Bibendum. A host of talented young chefs will be cooking up a storm, with a five-course dinner under the watchful eye of chef Claude Bosi.
Among the chefs creating the menu will be Chase Lovecky of Michelin-starred The Clove Club; Jack Cashmore of Anglo; Peter Hall from Lorne; Alex Craciun from Sosharu; and Conor Gadd from Trullo.
Food Truck Festival
This is one we’re looking forward to: Westfield will host two Food Truck Festivals. Westfield London (1-4 June) and one in Westfield Stratford City (22-25 June). Grab a taste of dishes from some of London’s best Food Trucks (yes!). A selection of the centre’s restaurants will be popping up with new concepts as well as a mix of cooking and cocktail masterclasses.
Tour the capital on The Cheese Bus – an urban dairy tour by The Cheese Bar.
Spiritland is bringing back the nightclub Bagleys with the help of Tanqueray London Dry Gin to hold a two day outdoor knees-up in Granary Square, Kings Cross.
World Gin Day
Hawker House will host an epic line up of London’s best bars and bartenders to mark World Gin Day in one huge gin festival.
Two sumptuous bars – Dandelyan and Oriole – will be hosting masterclasses and food pairings with world class bartenders serving cocktails using Bulleit Bourbon, Talisker, Don Julio Tequila and Tanqueray No. TEN.
