This winter, one of London’s most popular burger chains is inviting you to celebrate Cheesemas – plus they’re giving away 100s of free burgers with Cheesemas on Tour.
What to Expect
Legendary across London, Byron has been serving up proper beef burgers since 2007. Over the Christmas period, Byron will be treating diners to one of the most decadent Christmas dinners in town. We advise you arrive with empty bellies and a big appetite.
Byron use properly sourced beef for their burgers and make many of their own ingredients on site, including the cheese, which is the staple ingredient in their latest dish. Freddar cheese is named after Byron’s head chef, Fred Smith, and is deliciously moreish.
What to Eat
Renowned for their ‘specials’, Byron‘s take on the Christmas dinner this year gives everyone the excuse to indulge. Cheesemas No.1, the restaurant’s newest addition, features two 6oz hamburgers, mature cheddar, smoked bacon and onion relish, an onion ring and sliced pickles. This is all finished off with Byron‘s special bacon island sauce and a squishy bun.
For the absolute heroes out there who don’t think the towering Christmas feast is quite enough for them, you can Mac it up! and add a dollop of bacon macaroni cheese.
However, if the thought of coming face to face with the Cheesemas No.1 fills you with fear, why not try one of their regular cheeseburgers instead? You can choose your cheesy topping, with options including mature cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, blue cheese, Emmenthal or Freddar cheese.
What to Drink
The drink of choice this Christmas is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Freakshake. A super-thick peanut butter cup milkshake with homemade brownie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a Reese’s peanut butter cup and crushed honeycomb, finished with chocolate and salted caramel sauces. For those looking for a sweet treat, one of these shakes will have you on a sugar high for the rest of the festive season. We advise checking which of your friends doesn’t have a peanut allergy first… it’s not a drink to be tackled alone!
If you fancy something a little bit stronger, try Byron‘s namesake lager, made at Camden Town Brewery. It’s an unfiltered American-hopped lager, designed to be brilliant with a burger and available in all Byron restaurants.
If you peruse the menu long enough, you’ll discover that Byron do serve salads, but no one goes to a burger bar to order lettuce (we hope). Byron has a burger to sate everyone’s tastes, whether you’re a fan of the traditional British beef, deep-fried chicken or a veggie classic, there’s something on the menu for you. They’ll even take the bun off for you if they really have to.
Try and squeeze in one of their starters or sides. The Buffalo Chicken Wings are not to be missed, and if you’re after something a little different, or if you want to try and smuggle some veg into your visit, we recommend sampling the Sweet Potato and Courgette Fries.
For some, a dollop of the Bacon Macaroni Cheese on your burger may not be enough, so this Cheesemas you can upgrade it to a side. Share it with your friends if you think you can bare to give any away!
