Balls & Company Dinner
Bonny Porter, founder of Balls & Company in Soho, will host a line-up that includes some of London’s best female chefs. The one-off five course dinner will see Margot Henderson, Olia Hercules, Sandia Chang, Freddie Janssen, Emily Dobbs, Tania Steytler and Roz Bado join in the celebratory event.
What to Expect
Each chef will create a dish inspired by the women in their lives. Here are just a few dishes to expect on the night:
Tania Steytler‘s Saffron Bread and Butter Pudding, Cornish Clotted Ice Cream, Ginger Fairing
‘The use of saffron comes from my coastal roots. The dish is inspired by my grandmother and the Cornish women before her who passed on the recipe and baked this traditional cake regularly, serving it with lashings of clotted cream.’
Olia Hercules’ Fermented Green Sorrel Borsch
‘The sorrel borsch is an homage to my Ukranian roots, the recipe was passed down to me from my mother, and her mother before that – both broth masters!’
Roz Bado’s Blackheath Wild Bread
‘The Blackheath Wild was the first bread I ever baked at GAIL’s, so it’s only fitting that I serve it in celebration of women in the industry.’
Margot Henderson’s Braised Squid and Fennel
‘This is one of my all time favourite dishes, it’s hearty, delicious and yet delicate – an ode to Italian cookery writer, Marcella Hazan.’

Gaucho Restaurants will be launching #GauchoForWomen, their own International Women’s Month. The month will consist of an inspiring series of insightful events held at Gaucho locations across London, celebrating #BeBoldForChange, which encourages people around the world to embrace a more gender-inclusive society.
What to Expect
The events will begin on International Women’s Day, with Women in Hospitality, a talk and lunch with Tracey Matthews, COO of Gaucho, and Zuleika Fennell, MD of Corbin and King. Both women will give an invaluable insight into being a female boss in a largely male-dominated industry.
Don’t miss further events, such as Women & Cognac, a specially curated tasting event from Courvoisier’s Global Brand Ambassador, Rebecca Asseline.
STEP UP CLUB and D&D London Events
STEP UP CLUB and D&D London are hosting a series of events across the city.
What to Expect
#EATWELLWORKWELL is the simple act of not sitting at your desk: it’s getting out, eating well, making time for personal space and reflecting, as well as enjoying good food in the middle of the day.
Guests will enjoy a delicious banquet of Tiger Prawns with citrus butter, Crispy Pork Belly with celeriac and apple puree, along with other dishes. A selection of sweet treats will follow, including Vanilla Panna Cotta.

Guests will be invited to feast on a traditional Nordic Tea with freshly baked pastries, cinnamon buns and their famous smorgasbord. Helena Puolakka of Aster and new chef at Skylon, Kim Woodward, will discuss how they achieved their goals to become top female chefs in the industry, the stamina required in the kitchen and how they relax after a long day.
