Chicken just got fancy at this new opening in Brixton. Think wings, tunes and cocktails.

What to Expect

We’ve all had fantasies about setting up a bar with our mates. Three friends took the fantasy one step further and set up their very own chicken shop and bar. Nathan Pattie (co-founder of PIX), Rollo Weeks (formerly Sketch), and Lars Larson (formerly Cuckoo) bring you banging tunes, chicken and cocktails, moody industrial decor, intimate booths and a well-stocked bar.

Why save your chicken craving til after the night out when you can make it your night out?

What to Eat

There is a range of juicy chicken burgers to choose from, with the option of thigh or breast. We recommend the Big Cheese Burger with glazed bacon, three cheeses and caramelised onions. Or if you’re after something spicy go for the Funkin Hot Burger with pickled jalopeño salsa tangy slaw and chilli mayo.

Veggies don’t despair, the Jackson Burger had a meaty texture and a delicious combination of ingredients. It starts with a veggie patty and includes roast beetroot, sweet potato, black bean with wild rice and a blend of herbs and spices.

If you want to wing it, go for the subtle Funkin Wings with the special honey glaze. Then there are three hot wings to choose from, each stepping it up a notch, until you reach the I Can’t Feel My Funkin Face hot wings. For the brave, or stupid. If you’ve got a crowd you can order 20 wings for £16.50, but portions start at an affordable six for £6.50.

What to Drink

Chicken and cocktails? Yes please. Quality not quantity is the name of the game, with seven £8.50 cocktails on the menu. Gin-lovers, try the fruity Raspberry Ginjam with a sour of gin, raspberry jam, lemon and egg white. Pair spicy wings with a Cucumber Cooler, with vodka, elderflower liqueur, basil, cucumber, lemon and a hint of vanilla. Or try the refreshing Iced Tea with spiced rum, fresh peach, lemon and iced tea. There’s also a concise wine list, a small selection of beer and cider, soft drinks, and if you go for house spirits they are £6 including mixer (single).
